Asia

Jan 2015 – By Julie Rayner

I love Asia, I would love to one day travel properly around everywhere in Asia.

We (Hubby and I) have been to Thailand from here we travelled down the coast stopping at a few of the islands, Ko Samui, Ko Pha Ngan and Ko Tao and then crossed the boarder into Malaysia and visited the Perhentian Islands , these islands have to be the closest to what I would consider perfection..

We did another trip to Malaysia spending a little time in Kuala Lumper and visited the Big Pig Island and Tioman Island, this was our trip onto New Zealand, we were heading to NZ to have our second Wedding and on the way having our honeymoon…and what a honeymoon it was.

Perhentian Islands – Malaysia

I don’t think I have been anywhere as beautiful as the Perhentian Islands,

(Aitutaki in Rarotonga comes as very close second).

We had arrived in Bangkok and made our way down the coast stopping in a few islands along the way, we arrived into Kuala Besut and picked up the ferry to the Perhentian islands, we decided to stay on the big island at Mama’s place http://www.mamaschalet.com.my/ it wasn’t glamorous or the best place we could have stayed at but we loved it, we don’t ever expect too much at all from accommodation, it’s more where we are…and it was breathtaking.

Would I recommend the Perhentian Islands, totally…what is there to do…relax, snorkel, Kayak…we went years ago before we had the boys, before we were even married and we talk all the time about going back again with the boys. The snorkelling was incredible, we snorkelled heaps with Sharks but our fav pastime was Kayaking, we Kayaked everyday from morning until sunset, exploring..

We loved finding our own beaches, we found this beautiful beach with a little stream that we had all to ourselves and there were monkeys in the trees, baby sharks swimming around the rocks, white sand I mean what more could you want, it was heaven.
