Ok so in 1995 I did my big OE around Australia, started in Sydney staying in Woolangong, stopped along the East coast at many awesome party backpackers, Coffs Harbour, Byron Bay, Surfers Paradise, Coolangatta, Hervey Bay and onto Fraser Island, walked on the snowlike sands of Whithaven Beach, did a few islands along the East coast Great Keppal, Dunk Island, stopped in Brisbane…Rockhampton, Mackay, Townsville, Cairns, went up as far as Cape Tribulation, across to Darwin, down to Ulura, Katherine Gorge, Broome, down to Perth stopping at Exmouth, Carnarvon and Garaldton. Stayed in Perth for around 3 months, ran out of money so with friends drove to Melbourne to do some fruit picking….Loved Loved Loved that whole trip, I actually cried all the way to London Heathrow when my year was up .
In 2003 we went to Perth with our boys and did a Campervan trip, tried to get to Natures Window, but only managed to drive for the 2 hours the boys slept so didn’t quite make it, think we got as far as monkey Mia, but again we had a lovely trip, was very special showing my family some of the amazing places I had seen years before..one day i would like to travel around the whole of Australia again.
Nov 2014 we stopped in at Grant’s Brother and family in Brisbane (Bribie Island) on our way to London, we only did a week but we were lucky enough to be able to get to Brisbane Zoo (Grants brother works there) and the boys got to cuddle a Koala 🙂 and a snake! :/..Brisbane Zoo was huge and well worth going to, so much to see even the little lizards running around everywhere were so cute, and the Crocodile show was brilliant entertainment.
We spent quite a bit of our time on the beach, and eating the delicious prawns for dinner.
